The invaluable support of a consortium of global strategic allies |
|
Last updated: 20 April 2008 World Computer Exchange (WCE) works closely with a wide range of global organisations to help us recruit Partners, plan our programs, provide advice on local development strategies, and to provide services and programs to our Partners in developing countries. These organisations are crucial to our continued success and development. Our consortium of Strategic Allies have proven to be constructive builders globally and that believe that by sharing and helping other organisations they better accomplish their mission instead of fearing competition! These organisations behave in this way and it is infectious! Each has agreed to work collaboratively with WCE in multiple countries to accomplish projects within our mission. In recognition of this, each has a vote in the WCE Annual Meeting and WCE reduces our sourcing cost by 5% for Strategic Allies. We review the activeness of this list each November just before our Annual Meeting. African Universities Initiative: eleven of the following 25 Strategic Allies are participating in a consortium of service providers working together with WCE on the African Universities Initiative (AUI). WCE eWaste Initiative: Several of our Strategic Allies are also helping us with the WCE eWaste Initiative. WCE eCorps Initiative: Eight of the following 25 Strategic Allies are advising WCE in developing our new WCE eCorps Initiative WCE eGranary Initiative: WCE is pleased to be in a joint venture with the Association of African Universities and WiderNet for the wider distribution of their excellent eGranary digital library.
