World Computer Exchange is a nonprofit education organization that works through a network of 915 formal partner organizations in 77 developing countries. Our 700 volunteers in collaboration with 25 global education strategic allies provide our partners with six services: on line capacity building, low-cost computers, preloaded educational content, on site tech training, computers for girls tools, and hardware repair and leadership skills for youth. Since 2000, 4.67 million youth in 3,310 schools, universities, youth centers and libraries have used computers refurbished by our volunteers to access new skills, understanding and opportunities via preloaded content and the internet. At the same time these computers are kept out of landfills and we work to see that they are recycled appropriately. Our refurbishing and content loading takes place in 10 Chapters in Australia, Canada, Puerto Rico, and the USA. Our 10 Field Associates are growing Chapters in their developing countries. We operate as a volunteer and virtual organization to keep our costs low and annual fund raising expenses below 4%.
