WCE is recruiting Limba Kamanga to become a WCE Field Associate for Malawi. He is the Field Associate for WCE strategic ally, WiderNet.
World Computer Exchange (WCE) is interested to ship refurbished computers a fifth time for some of the 70 interested groups in Malawi. The computers will be preloaded with content in education, agriculture, health, technology and environment for off-line use when the computers cannot be connected to the internet. WCE is seeking a financial Sponsor to help cover part of the per delivered computer cost to reduce the match required from the recipient schools and groups. WCE is hoping to again provide computers to schools and communities assisted by Peace Corps Volunteers as we have in Malawi before and in 16 other countries. WCE has a philanthropic partnership in New Horizons Computer Training Centers that has a Center in Malawi that WCE is asking to offer tech training as they have with us in other countries. Previously WCE shipped four times to Malawi delivering 285 refurbished computers to 28 schools connecting 31,860 students over the years. USAID funded and was the consignee for most of these. Many of the computers were shipped to recipient schools that were assisted by Peace Corps Volunteers. WCE Development Officers for Malawi: Eric Frothingham, Vincent Ndhlovu and Chiagozie Christopher Uchenwa.
