WCE Context in Uganda: World Computer Exchange is exploring with our partner organizations getting a governmental waiver to import our 3rd shipment into Uganda. WCE has heard interest from 299 groups in Uganda. This is the most we have heard from in any country. WCE seeks a Corporate Sponsor to cover the shipping and content loading costs to reduce the match that our partner organizations pay. WCE ships refurbished, working duo core and more recent full computer sets preloaded with Linux Xbuntu operating system, Libre/Office suite, Edubuntu, and our content pack of education, agriculture, health, technology and environment (see attachment). WCE has a philanthropic partnership with New Horizons Computer Training Centers that has Centers here that might offer tech training as they have with us in other countries. WCE is known to iEARN-Uganda and has worked with their counterparts in 11 other countries to provide our recipient schools with teacher training in computer use and in using multi-country experiential projects on the internet to improve learning.
