Andrea Barrientos Soto: World Computer Exchange is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrea Barrientos as our Puerto Rico Coordinator. Her experience in project management can be traced back to her work in the philanthropy, where, for a decade she lead an educational reform program in 17 public middle schools, designing professional development seminars, workshops and internships for over 500 public middle school teachers. Later as an independent consultant, she helped in introducing the concept of corporate social responsibility into the practice of several local companies through educational seminars, workshops, case-study analyses, redesigns of philanthropic programs and an informational magazine. Dr. Barrientos worked in coalition building and event planning was the Symposium of Health Informatics in Latin America and the Caribbean (SHILAC) which was an ambitious project aimed at the integration of minority and women in the innovation and management of health data towards creative solutions. She is a collaborator of the Peace and Conflict Institute and a member of the research group on Emerging Values, Social Education and Educational Policy of the Faculty of Educational Sciences, both of the University of Granada. She holds a master’s degree is in administration, planning and social policy in Education from Harvard University and a doctorate in Pedagogy from the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Granada, Spain.
